Travelling together

What if the future of travel depended on public transit? It’s possible. Many of us dream of a network connecting the cities and regions of Québec, allowing us to travel quickly, economically and pollution-free to visit family and friends.

Travelling together

What if the future of travel depended on public transit? It’s possible. Many of us dream of a network connecting the cities and regions of Québec, allowing us to travel quickly, economically and pollution-free to visit family and friends.

Sustainable public transit may begin with electric buses but it goes far beyond that. Car sharing helps reduce the number of vehicles on the roads. Bike sharing is also a great way to travel short distances around the city.

By changing the ways we get around, Quebecers are working together to ensure a more sustainable mobility that generates less pollution.

Reinventing sustainable transportation

The fight against climate change requires sustainable mobility that respects the environment.

This vision is behind the recent arrival of a new generation of zero-emission city buses. The first model, the Electrip by Letenda, is the result of a collaborative effort between several partners who pooled their collective expertise. Hydro-Québec participated in the project by making a donation to help fund charging station design.

Community driving

A pioneer in car-sharing services, Communauto gives people an environmentally friendly and affordable alternative to buying a car.

With its fleet of several thousand cars available in Montréal, the city of Québec, Gatineau and Sherbrooke, Communuauto has a significant impact on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants. This is especially true given that it is possible to rent an electric car to travel both short and long distances.

From car to bike

Vélovolt is studying an active, sustainable and ecological method of transportation: electrically assisted bicycles (EABs) or e-bikes. The campaign’s objective is to see how well these bikes can be integrated the transportation options and evaluate their potential as a solution for short, daily trips.
