Adopting better habits
Many of us want to do better. Like taking the train instead of the car to vacation in Charlevoix or opting for businesses that use electric trucks for deliveries—these are the types of resolutions we can get behind!
To participate actively in this movement, Hydro-Québec has chosen to electrify our vehicle fleet and to offer companies charging solutions for their vehicles.
Also, to accelerate the shift to electricity, governments and many organizations and companies are doing their part so we can drive toward an even greener future.
An electric vehicle fleet
To reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, we’ve begun to replace our gas-powered vehicles with hybrid or all-electric ones—from snowmobiles to cars and bucket trucks.
Our electric bucket trucks are the result of a collaboration with Lion and PosiPlus, who designed an all-electric articulating boom to maneuver the bucket. They are quieter, which means work can be carried out without disturbing the neighborhood.

Financial assistance for driving electric!
To encourage people to go electric, the Québec government offers a rebate of up to $7,000 for the purchase or lease of a new electric vehicle and up to $3,500 for the purchase of a used EV. It also offers a $600 reimbursement for the installation of a home charging station.
The government of Canada provides incentives of up to $5,000 on the purchase or lease of a zero-emission vehicle.
