Area map
The map shows the preliminary layout of the wind turbines in sector 1 of the Utshishkau wind farm project. This area could generate 392 MW of wind power. The energy that’s produced will be sent to Chamouchouane substation.
A few highlights:
72 potential wind farm sites are being studied. Depending on the study results and consultations, between 5 and 16 of them will be ruled out.
About 75% of the logging roads needed for the project are already built.
An underground collector system will run under the access roads.
This wind turbine layout plan is preliminary, so it may change based on the findings of the environmental and technical studies and discussions with local communities.
